[dropcap]H[/dropcap]ow would you like to go to Hyderabad – without ever leaving New York? Visit the famous Char Minar, the colorful Lad Bazaar and taste some of the traditional cuisine – and also help educate and empower the children of this city.
After last year’s very successful ‘Educate a Child’ Gala which raised over $ 1 million, Children’s Hope India invites you to a wonderful evening once again highlighting its prime mission – the education of underserved children. This year’s gala ‘Hope in Hyderabad – Giving Wings through Education’ takes place at Pier Sixty in Manhattan on October 9, 2016.
The evening highlights the Ekalavya School in the Nandanavanam area of Hyderabad, which educates children from the nearby slum communities. It also celebrates the vibrant, ancient city of Hyderabad by creating the ambiance of that famed city with sumptuous food, music and dance at Pier Sixty.
Over 500 guests are expected from the Tri-State area for this gala evening. This year’s Lotus honorees are Mohit Assomull, Managing Director and Head of Global Capital Markets, Morgan Stanley; NV ‘Tiger’ Tyagarajan, President and CEO, Genpact. The Making a Difference honoree is Dr. G.K. Jayaram, Executive Director, ILID USA and First Chairman, Infosys.
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Master of Ceremonies of the evening is Reena Ninan, Anchor, CBS Weekend News & CBSN. A highlight of the evening will be the live auction of children’s dreams where guests get to bid on life-changing educational projects to help India’s most needy and struggling students succeed.
There is also a silent auction of donated must-have items including an exclusive Breakfast at Tiffany’s for 20 and a fabulous gold necklace; a cricket bat signed by Virat Kohi, MS Dhoni and the entire India team; a stay in the luxury Taj Falaknuma Palace; air tickets to India on Air India; and dinner and wine pairing for eight with Celebrity Chef Gaurav Anand at Awadh. All proceeds will benefit Children’s Hope India Education programs.
The evening includes cocktails, dinner, entertainment and dancing. There is also a dance performance by the Aatma Performing Arts which has taken its show Mystic India to many parts of the world, celebrating Indian dance and music.
Tickets to the Gala are $400 pp – for details call 516-581-6542 or 908-403-6942
