Contemporary Asian art stands on the step-stool of pre-modern art from the past and draws its inspiration from the work of past artists from different parts of Asia to continue the dialogue of how art can tell us about our world. This exhibition reintroduces key works in Asia Society Museum’s Mr. and Mrs. John D. Rockefeller 3rd Collection of pre-modern Asian art through the lenses of three leading contemporary artists, Rina Banerjee, Byron Kim, and Howardena Pindell.
