Celebrity and Caring at the Children’s Hope Gala 2024 Raise Over a Million Dollars
Vikas Khanna, Mira Nair, Ramji Raghavan, Sanjiv Ahuja & Sid Lakhani Honored

Celebrities are softies under their glamorous exteriors. Vikas Khanna left his precious baby, the fire-hot new restaurant Bungalow, which he never ever leaves, to come to give a testimonial of love for CHI. To save on his time, he had originally planned to bike it to the gala but being so overwhelmed with long lines of diners and a waiting list of 1200 wanna be diners, he decided to take an Uber instead!
Mira Nair, the noted filmmaker who is currently immersed in making a film on the iconic artist Amrita Sher-Gil, sacrificed a chunk of her time to come and talk about the 30-year relationship between her nonprofit Salaam Baalak Trust and Children’s Hope India.

Sree Sreenivasan, the wizard who juggles multiple portfolios – tech, events, and people, took to the stage with star auctioneer CK to raise a huuge amount for CHI’s Early Learning Initiative. Add to it awards for Lotus honoree Sanjiv Ahuja, Making a Difference for Ramji Raghavan of Agastya Foundation and Rising Star Sid Lakhani, and you had quite an evening.

Guests were in foodie heaven with a non-stop cocktail hour with everything from kebabs to mini dosas, an elegant sit-down dinner and an unending dessert bar by Benares. CHI started a new holiday initiative, Diya for a Dream and also presented the energetic Aum dancers. Lots of glamor and fun – and best of all, over one million dollars raised for early childhood education to help fail-proof the future of vulnerable children in India.
