Free Event – Tata Dialogue on Innovation
Here’s a chance to visit the Liberty Science Center in New Jersey and hear cutting edge discussions organized by one of India’s leading business powerhouses, Tata. “Tata Dialogue on Innovation” at Liberty Science Center kicks off with a Free Lecture by J. Moses and Kshitij “Tij” Nerurkar on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 5:30 pm
J Moses, Founder and President of ChiPlatform, who green lighted the famed “Grand Theft Auto” videogame, will be joined by Kshitij “Tij” Nerurkar, COO of Tata Interactive Systems, a pioneer and global leader in Learning Solutions and Business Simulations.
Moses will discuss his work shaping technology and media in various contexts, including games and entertainment. He will share how his own personal experiences have impacted his changing outlook on technology and present his vision for the future of social media.
Nerurkar will focus on Alternate Reality Gaming (ARG) and how it sets the stage for next generation learning interventions. He will discuss the challenges faced by practitioners and what this technology means for the learning of tomorrow.
This is the first of three events in the “Tata Dialogue on Innovation.” Generously supported by Tata, the lectures are free to the public. July and October events will be announced shortly. Light refreshments will be served. Limited seats are available and advance reservations are recommended. Great idea to get on the mailing list for the future lectures in this series.

Discovering a Hidden Gem
Queens, though often over-shadowed by the glamor and glitz of Manhattan, is a fascinating borough of New York City with a rich immigration history. So many Indian families have called it their first home when they landed in the US, and it is a rich mosaic of temples, gurudwaras and mosques, as well as restaurants and grocery stores which highlight the foods of the Indian sub-continent.
Now you have a chance to celebrate India in a hidden gem of Queens – the Flushing Town Hall which goes back to 1862. This is a New York City landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic places. The Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts is celebrating one of Queen’s most dynamic people – the Indian community with an India Festival from April to May 2013. Some of the highlights include Erasing Borders, an IAAC arts exhibition which celebrates the art of the Indian Diaspora, through May; Sonali Skandan and Jiva Dance and Akshara – an interactive arts workshop on April 28; and a special screening of an Indian film in conjunction with IAAC’s New York Indian Film Festival NYIFF2013 on May 4. The events are nominally priced.
