Single Desi on the Winning Strategy
What’s your strategy? Mark Ballas asks Candace Cameron Bure at the start of their dance practice for Dancing with the Stars Season 18. Natasha Bure (Candace’s daughter) stated “To win!”
Strategy – what is yours?
We all plan our lives according to strategy. When you are young, you go through the motions and decide what you want to do, who you want to be, what you want to accomplish.
When you are in your early 20’s, you begin to shoot for the stars. Between the years of 20-30, life starts to unfold. Life pushes you in so many different directions, you wonder, “Where am I going and when will I get there?” Obviously, as first generation immigrants at the beginning of our lives, we have to work hard at finding ourselves and proving who we are. However, we need strategy. We need to play our cards right, and if we lose, there is always tomorrow; a new strategy; a new hand of cards are dealt.
Strategies for Love, Work & Blackjack
So I am here to ask, what is your strategy? Strategy is needed at work, in socialization, organizing events, in Blackjack and a host of other opportunities.
At work, working with people and adjusting to people’s varying personalities is a necessary skill. However what about socialization, in this daunting world, where people have the freedom to wander around and go to different events, try new things, and experience new opportunities, one has to make themselves marketable and special.
What is your game? What is your market? Are you about getting people together for professional events or dating/socialization? Do you want to organize a book club? Having a specific market limits the confusion in your mind as well as with others. People know who you are and what you are looking for.
People normally come back to the same events when they are looking for the same things as you are. When people are looking for the same things, there is more of a chance to bond with people and successful strategy goes up. Winning increases and you start to feel good about what you have accomplished.
The older you get, the more you realize that life is about strategizing and moving forward. Decide what you want to do, what your passion is and go for it. You never know how you will do, unless you try.
After all, we all want to win and winning takes effort!
By the way, Candace Cameron Bure is doing fabulously on Dancing with the Stars! So far so good! Go Candace! I will be voting for you!
